The City Centre Fair

At half past nine in the evening of the first Saturday of Feria, the Mayor of Málaga, surrounded by thousands of the Málaga citizens, will trip the switch that turns on the illumination that will light up the Fairground for the next nine nights.

The First Night

At midnight, a magnificent display of fireworks begin. During half an hour over 4,000 kg of pyrotechnics fill the sky with light, fire, music and colour, coinciding with the lighting up of the Paseo del Parque´s artistic illumination.The Fair in Málaga lasts for over a week and always starts with a firework display on the Friday.

The fairs history dates back more than 500 years to 19 August 1487, when the Catholic kings, Ferdinand and Isabella, retook the city from the Moors, in what is known as the `Reconquista of Spain´ Málaga then became part of the Kingdom of Castile.

Feria de Noche is held in the main fairground near the Málaga conference centre (the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones) and the Feria de Dia in is held in the centre of Málaga.
